For the Buyers

How do I buy images?

That's simple! Just do the following:
1. Register at Pixamba
2. Buy some credits - click on 'Buy credits' link located on top of every page when you are signed in
3. Select the image, choose a desired size and select the license you need.
4. Add to cart and download the image
Et Voila!

How do I buy credits?

Click on 'Buy credits' link located on top of every page when you are signed in to your Pixamba account. Each credits package shows a 'Buy now' button nearby. These are PayPal buttons since our system is integrated with PayPal payments processor. You can buy credits with almost any major credit card or with your PayPal account, if you have one. More payment options are available through PayPal in selected countries, e.g. 'giropay' bank system in Germany. PayPal, which secures millions of payments transactions monthly, is a recognized industry leader in Internet payments. Pixamba selected PayPal payments to provide you with the most secure, fast and user-friendly payment solution.

Which license should I select?

The license selection depends on how you plan using the image. Currently Pixamba provides 3 following licenses: Standard Royalty Free, Extended Royalty Free and Editorial. Here we compare various licenses.

Am I getting a copy of the invoice / purchase receipt on my purchase?

Absolutely. The purchase request is emailed to you each time you make a new purchase. All the receipts are also available after your sign in to your account in 'My account' section of the web site.

Can I pay for credits with a bank cheque or by a direct wire transfer?

The best and the fastest way to buy some credits is by buying them with 'Buy Now' buttons on 'Buy credits' page. However, you can pay for credits with a bank cheque or wire transfer too. Note that such a transaction will be handled manually and therefore may take some processing time. When signed in, click on 'Bill me later!' link on 'Buy credits' page and we will contact you shortly. We'll credit your account with the requested number of credits and will provide you with the further instructions how to proceed with your payment. The minimal order amount required for the 'Bill me later' transactions is USD $100.

Why actual images dimensions in pixels shown on the web differ from the dimensions, specified in 'Prices and Sizes' page?

Pixamba images come from different cameras, scanners and other sources. The actual size of the image for any standard image size (XS - XXXL) is calculated according to the dimensions of the original, targeting the total image size in megapixels (MP) like it is specified in Prices and Sizes' section. Actual image dimensions in pixel may slightly differ from the specified, but the total amount of pizels will be at least the same. For instance, many images from digital cameras with standard 2/3 sensors will show XS size as 424 x 283 pixels, which is effectively 0.14 MP - even a bit more than 0.12 MP shown in Prices and Sizes'.

How do I know which image size do I need to purchase?

The size you need to buy depends on where and how you plan to use the image. For a web usage you typically need a XS or S sizes. If you plan the image to be used in a printed material you should check the image size on for the designed printing resolution. Any image available on Pixamba web allows you easily change the DPI (printing resolution) for any XS - XXXL size and instantly get the printing size for the new DPI resolution. For many home and small-office printers 200 DPI is a good initial guess for the reasonable printed image quality, while 300 DPI and more can deliver better results, if the printer supports the high-resolution printing.

Should I credit Pixamba and/or Pixamba contributors when I use the licensed content?

The correct answer depends on the type of the license which you purchased with that content. For Editorial license the answer is - 'Yes, you should do that'.
For the rest of the licenses the answer is - 'No, it is not required'. However, we will highly appreciate if you credit Pixamba anyway, for any Pixamba image you use. It helps us to grow and provide you with better content and better services (and it probably costs you nothing), so we will be always thankful for any credit you give us while using our content purchased with RF licenses.

Is there any copyright information or a watermark in the image / content which I license from Pixamba?

No. The images you get are free of any copyright information and watermarks.

In what format I get downloaded content?

Photos and Illustrations: JPG

I tried to download an image and never got it, but my account was charged. What I do now?

Call us or write us the sooner the better and we will send you the image you did not receive or, alternatively, will credit your account in the respective amount of credits.

What is the contributor's fee/ How much I get on each sale of my image?

Can I use an alias contributing my artwork to Pixamba?

Yes, you can do that. Your member name is used as such an alias.

Can I contribute content containing recognizable people?

The correct answer depends if you select an Editorial or a Royalty Free (RF) license for such content. If you select the default RF license you have to provide model release for any recognizable person in your creation, even for your family and for yourself. For RF, provide us with Pixamba model release for every person in your image. Model-released RF images also can be sold with Editorial license, so do not forget to select 'Editorial' checkbox, thus expanding your sales.
If you do not have model releases for the recognizable people in your image, you must check 'Editorial' checkbox. 'Editorial' is the only license which allows selling such images with no model releases.

Can I contribute images containing third party brand names, trade marks or copyrighted content?

Yes, but with Editorial license only - check 'Editorial' check box on your submission. No Royalty Free license allows that.

Some of my images were rejected by Pixamba editors. Why is that?

On a rejection, our editors explain the main rejection reason. Typical rejection reasons include technical issues with the image, such as focusing problems, improper ligthing and exposure, dust, over- post-processing and similar. Furthermore, our editors aslways take in account the market value of the image and may decline images that does not feet our current marketing needs.

My image was rejected by the editors. Can I resubmit it?

Yes you can, if you made the changes according to our editors' notes. However, please do not resubmit the same rejected image 'as is' with no changes. It wastes our time, costs us money and we may suspend or cancel your account if it happens periodically.

What is the minimum acceptable resolution / size for the photos?

Minimal acceptable image size is 4 MP. Since we 'sale pixels' the bigger image you contribute the bigger your earnings.

Neither PayPal not Moneybookers are available in my country. Can I get payed?

Yes, you can get payed if you can accept a bank cheque or a wire transfer from us. Look above for the payment methods available or write us if you need any further clarification on this question.

If I decide to sell my photos with you guys, what rights should I grant you? Who holds the copyright?

You are the copyright owner. Pixamba acts as your personal sales agent. You grant us the right for a non-exclusive worldwide reselling of your artwork. We do not require an exclusivity, however we encourage it, raising your commission fee for any exclusive artwork you sell with us.
